San Clemente

Campaign Statement

My name is Shane Hirschman, and I'm running for Mayor at a pivotal moment in San Clemente's history. This November, residents will elect our first directly elected mayor, giving our community a unique opportunity to shape its future.

As San Clemente approaches its Centennial in 2028 and prepares to welcome the world as the host of Olympic surfing at Trestles, we have an opportunity to honor our history while protecting our iconic, pristine coastline.

I am running a grassroots campaign built on approachability, transparency, and public service. As your mayor, I will listen, work collaboratively, and earn the trust of every resident. My goal is to build on what makes San Clemente exceptional while finding practical, creative ways to strengthen our community.

As an Art Director and member of the Arts and Culture Committee, I have helped organize community events that bring residents together and support local businesses. Those experiences have reinforced my belief that strong communities are built through unity, creativity, and civic engagement.

The best solutions don't always come from tradition; they come from listening, inclusion, and a willingness to think differently. Together, we can ensure San Clemente remains an extraordinary place to call home for generations to come.
